Online platform providers, with the exception of providers that are micro or small enterprises, are required to provide certain information to users of their services:
- In accordance with Article 26 of the DSA, online platform providers that display advertisements must ensure that, for each individual advertisement displayed, users can clearly, concisely, unambiguously and in real time identify that it is an advertisement. They must also ensure that it is clear who is the advertiser and who is paying for the advertisement, and provide meaningful information, accessible through the advertisement, on the main parameters used to display that particular advertisement to the user.
- In accordance with Article 27 of the DSA, online platform providers that use recommender systems must set out in their terms and conditions, in plain and intelligible language, the main parameters they use in their recommender systems and any options available to recipients of the service to modify or influence those main parameters.
- In accordance with Article 30 of the DSA, online platform providers that allow consumers to conclude distance contracts with traders must publish on their platform certain information about traders, including name, address, contact details and identification number.
